As you've grown, who has always held your hand?
As I grow, my parents have always been there to hold my hand. They have stuck beside me through everything I have done; becoming coaches or organization presidents, all while never neglecting the hectic schedules that are inevitable when caring for three teenage girls. They have always supported my many passions, showing up when it mattered most, and providing a space for creativity to prosper. They have inspired me and dared me to dream. They show me so much love and support, and I am forever grateful for my parents who continue to hold my hand.
~Alaina
When I was a little girl, my mother turned on a song I had never heard, but somehow felt like I knew the lyrics to, and so I easily sang along to it. I later explained the feeling I had to her, and she replied, telling me, “it’s because you have a musical heart,” and that has stuck with me ever since. So thank you, mom, for always holding my hand, and my musical heart.
~Alina

Someone who held my hand on this LONG journey is my father. My mother at the time didn’t want kids and my father who isn’t my biological father took me under his wing. If he didn’t do that, I don’t know where I would be.

One of my best friends has been there for me since we started talking. I had a relatively public breakdown one evening and later that night she was the one to check up on me. Since then we are each other’s go to person for any conversation we need to have, any time one of us needs to vent, sometimes we just talk about anything. She’s been there for me for years and I wouldn’t be as confident in myself or as happy of a person if I didn’t have her to talk to.
~Brody
As I grew, I would look around and see a different person at each step and each time that person would either disappear or disappoint me. And that was because I was person driven instead of purpose driven. I realized that sometimes you'll have a lot of people around you but everyone you count, you can't count on. So, I stopped looking around and back and decided to look forward and up. And there he was a man who loved me when people deemed me unlovable, A man who kept me when others threw me away. A man who, even if I don't always know it or not, has never left my side. And that man is Jesus Christ. Even though I still have much more room to grow, I’m glad that when I look around, and it feels like I’m all alone, I can remember and be glad that Christ is at my side.
~Camari
